Born in Rotten Row Glasgow he started his art career after being made redundant and decided to contact Galleries with the intention of selling some of his work. That was just the start and he has been selling work constantly ever since and has exhibited in galleries across Scotland, England, Spain and France. With work in collections in America, Canada, Spain, France, Ireland, Hong Kong, Belgium and Italy, J P has a strong following and with clients like John Barrowman collecting his work he is an artist to watch out for. "Creating images rather than just representing what I see even though realism was a starting point, I believe you have to evolve as a painter otherwise you stagnate. The never ending quest to improve and to capture something more on canvas than a pleasing scene is the powerful driving force that keeps my work evolving."
