Domenico Costa was born in Castel Volturno, not far from Naples in 1969, the youngest child in a family of four (two sisters and one brother) and was the spoilt one of the family. His father worked in a hotel and his mother in a factory in Naples, so his sisters were in charge of the education of the young Domenico. One of his sisters had a boyfriend who was an artist, painting small portraits of tourists in Naples. Domenico loved to watch the man paint and so asked him if he would teach Domenico his skills. When he was 6 years old, his sister Monica gave him a painting set as a present and he started to paint on paper. Very soon the family realised that Domenico had a talent for drawing, and so his father decided to send him to study at the Art School in Naples. Throughout the years, Domenico has developed a deep artistic personality, thanks to the study of various painting techniques. In 1988-1989, Domenico attended the International School of Graphic Design under the direction of Ricardo Licata (Instructor for the Fine Art Academy of Paris) and studied the art of etching and engraving. From 1990, Domenico has held numerous personal and collective exhibitions. His works are found in public and private collections in Italy as well as abroad.
